The ADvance Study is researching the delivery of mild electrical pulses to specific areas of the brain to treat Alzheimer’s. This deep brain stimulation (DBS) will be given in the fornix, a place in the brain that plays a central role in memory.

UPDATE:

Thank you for your interest in the ADvance study of deep brain stimulation for Alzheimer's Disease. We have completed enrollment of 42 people in the study and are no longer recruiting patients. We will have initial study results in mid 2015.

We are grateful to the patients who are participating in this important study and their families. We are hopeful that stimulation of memory circuits in the brain will ultimately provide to be effective for this challenging and devastating disease.
